Eat Me er I Mean About Me

I guess that’s not very nice is it. It should be “About Me”. I can’t help it I just have a bad way about me (not really, I’m a nice guy).  Anyway, this blog is about me, Eric Dytzel, and the foods l like and the eating experiences I have had.

I have been very fortunate to have traveled the world (47 countries at last count) and have spent almost 15 years overseas from Europe to Asia to Africa to Australia and just about every place in between. Haven’t made it to South America yet but that is coming. Watch out Rio de Janerio.

In my journeys I have eaten some unbelievably good food and some horrible food as well. We are talking the best steaks from the stockyards of Nebraska to the mystery meat in the wok in a back alley in Singapore to a traditional pub lunch in rainy cold London to good old fashioned Memphis barbecue.

Have even braved Balut in the Philippines. If you don’t know what Balut is and you have a weak stomach do not look it up.

My “foodie” heroes are Anthony Bourdain, Grahm Kerr (the galloping gourmet), Jim Neely of Interstate BBQ in Memphis TN and of course the greatest of them all, my mom who can cook like you wouldn’t believe.
